MHS Facility Usage – In case of weather-related cancellations, late starts or early outs, listed below are the MHS facility usage practices:
- Delay for snow- Morning facility use/events are canceled to allow for snow removal. Scheduled events may resume when the school day begins.
- Delay for cold – Administrative discretion is used for morning events/faculty use.
- No School – Administrative discretion is used for afternoon and evening events/facility use only.
- Early out – All events/facility use is canceled for the day.
The Muskie Library will have extended hours for finals week!
Monday, December 19, 10:30am – 7:00pm
Tuesday, December 20, 7:30am – 7:00pm
Students are encouraged to come use the extra study time to prepare for semester tests or final projects – FREE snacks (brain food) will be served from 5:00-7:00pm every night. Good Luck, Muskie Nation!
- 1st Semester Finals Schedule – 1st Semester Finals Schedule Detail
- Juniors & Seniors – Study Hall Exemption Forms for 2nd Semester can be picked up in the Asst. Principal’s Office from Mrs. Chatfield. Forms need to be completed/turned in by Dec. 21. A form will need to be completed even if a form was filled out for 1st Semester. Study Hall Exemption Form – 2nd Semester
- Girls soccer will not have open gym on Sunday the next two weeks (Dec. 18 & 25). Please spread the word.
- Student Council will be opening its doors to new members in February. If you are interested in being on Student Council, you’re invited to observe meetings the week of January 2nd and 9th. Stay tuned for applications!

- The Muskie Band’s annual nut fundraiser is underway! Order cashews, mixed nuts, puddles, and chocolate dipped cherries, toffee almonds, malted milk balls, and other sweet treats now – they make great holiday gifts or a treat for yourself!For a flyer with pictures and prices, or to make a purchase, call 299-8082, email jstogdill@machlink.com, or talk to any of the MHS band students. Walk-ins are welcome at the band’s “nut house” at 1600 Plaza Place. Hours are every Tues. evening from 6-7:30 pm and Sat. morning from 10 am till noon until Dec. 20, so buy now before we run out!
** Silver Cord Opportunities **
- Grant Elementary is looking for volunteers to help at the Grant Carnival on Friday, February 24. The carnival is from 5:00-7:00pm. Volunteers need to arrive at Grant at 4:30pm for instructions. We need 20-25 volunteers. Please contact Jaimie Caffery, Grant principal at: jaimie.caffery@mcsdonline.org if you are interested.
- The Y Youth Sports is looking for volunteers for basketball and soccer seasons. Depending on your interests you’d be able to be a coach, referee, or scorekeeper. Typical volunteer days are Saturday mornings during each six-week season. Volunteers must have an interest in sports or to work with kids. Dec. 19 – Finals for 1st, 3rd, 5th-hour classes
Dec. 20 – Finals for 2nd, 4th, 6th-hour classes
Dec. 21 – Finals for 7th-hour class and make-ups (2-Hour Early Dismissal)
- Dec. 21 – 2-Hour Early Dismissal
- Dec. 22 – Jan. 2 – No School – Winter Break
- Jan 3 – Classes Resume – First day of 2nd semester
