MHS Cake Auction – It’s that time of year for the 27th Annual MHS Cake Auction, Muskie Jam is the theme. Friday, February 10th, Snow date February 11th. Girl/Boy Doubleheader basketball games vs. Bettendorf. Girls game @ 6 pm, Boys game @ 7:30 pm. There will be live cake auctions in the gym, silent auction in the Cafeteria, 50/50 Raffle, Cake and Ice Cream for Sale. Join in the fun! If you would like to bring a cake for the auction, please have cakes to MHS by 4 pm on Feb. 10th.

At Jack Logan’s sports-crazy New Jersey high school, the new rule is that all kids must play on a team. So Jack and a ragtag group of anti-athletic friends decide to get even. They are going to start a rebel JV soccer team whose mission is to avoid victory at any cost, setting out to secretly undermine the jock culture of the school. But as the team’s losing formula becomes increasingly successful at attracting fans and attention, Jack and his teammates are winning in ways they never expected―and don’t know how to handle. - Girls’ Golf Sign-up Meeting – Any girl interested in playing golf this Spring, an informational sign-up meeting will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 1 at 7:30 AM in the Commons. If you are unable to attend, please contact Coach Randleman at 263-9960.
- Join us for the 15th Annual Dessert Concert on Thursday, February 2nd @ 7 PM in the MHS Auditorium! Come see the barbershop quartet Solid Harmony, both show choirs, and several variety acts including solos, duets, instrumentalists, and dance. Admission is $4 and dessert is included at the end of the concert in the auditorium lobby. Passes not accepted. Come support the Vocal Music Boosters and have a fun, entertaining evening!

- 8th Grade Parent Night (Incoming Freshman for 2017-18) – Wednesday, Feb. 1, 2017 – 6:00 – 7:30 PM, MHS Auditorium. Please plan on attending this informational night. - Local Scholarship Presentation to Seniors will take place throughout the day on February 10th in the Auditorium. Students will be taken by their designated teacher after attendance is taken.

- Key Club Blood Drive – Any MHS Students or Staff interested in donating blood on Friday, February 3rd need to sign-up with a Key Club member or email Mrs. Keltner at jen.keltner@mcsdonline.org. Walk-ins will NOT be taken for this blood drive — all donors need to have a scheduled time.
- Iowa Water Conference Student Essay Contest and Photo Contest – The Iowa Water Center is holding an essay writing contest for students entitled “Spirit of the Water.” Entries are due Feb. 1. Cash prizes will be awarded to the top three finishers in each of the three categories (high school, undergraduate, and graduate). - The 2017-18 Curriculum Guide contains the courses that are offered at MHS. 2017-18 Curriculum Guide Grade level counselors will be conducting classroom visit to provide students with course information and guidance on course selection starting the week of January 23rd. Look over the curriculum guide to see what classes you would like to take next year.
- Meeting Room Change – Advanced Placement (AP) Class Parent/Student Information Meeting – Thursday, Feb. 2, 5:30-7pm, Stan Howe Commons/AP Teacher’s classrooms. Learn about AP class opportunities and meet the teachers while visiting the classroom for a brief overview.
- MHS Yearbook Purchase Cut-off Date – The last day to order an MHS Yearbook is February 24th. Purchase at the Attendance Center – $56.
- Humane Society Gourmet Apples – It’s time to place your order for your Muscatine Humane Society Valentine’s Gourmet Apple(s). See attachment for more information. If you’ve never had these before, they are delicious! A great gift for anyone or treat for yourself! - MHS Baseball Open Gym – If you are considering playing baseball this summer, baseball open gym will begin Sunday, February 12th from 6-8pm in the MHS Gym.

- Grant Elementary is still looking for volunteers to help at the Grant Carnival on Friday, February 24. The carnival is from 5:00-7:00 pm.
