  • The Environmental Club will be meeting TODAY, Friday, March 24, in Mrs. Baillie’s room (12-005) during the second half of lunch.
  • Attention Current MHS Parents & Future MHS Parents – MHS Booster Club is looking for a few energetic & committed parents to join us for the 2017/2018 school year! Did you know that the MHS Booster Club represents and supports over 65 high school clubs, activities, and sports? We hold a meeting once a month at the high school & also help with concessions and other great school sponsored activities. It’s a great way to connect, meet new parents & get involved! If interested in learning more you can contact MHS Booster parents; Carol Reynolds (carol.reynolds@kentww.com) or Joni Kerr (jonikerr@machlink.com). We’re inviting potential new members to our April 12th meeting at 6:30 pm in the Muscatine High School Commons. Come see what we’re about!
  • Sophomore Football Players – There will be a mandatory meeting for all football players that will be sophomores next football season, in Room 22-010, on Tuesday March 28 at 12:00. If you have any questions regarding this meeting, please see Coach Truitt.
  • Visiting Author Book Order – We are selling autographed copies of our visiting author, Sarah Prineas’ books. Order forms are available in the library; forms and money are due Thursday, April 6th.
  • New Silver Cord Opportunity – see Silver Cord section below.
  • Pearl City Picnic – 4th Annual BBQ Cook-off, May 6, 2017. The Picnic is a fundraiser that supports Senior Resources. Competitors Wanted! Please visit www.muscatineseniorresources.com/picnic or the attached flyer for details. Pearl City Picnic Flyer
  • Swing Dance this Saturday night, March 25 from 6:30 to 10:00 pm. Put on your dancing shoes and come to the MHS Commons to enjoy some music by the middle school jazz bands, the high school jazz band and jazz ensemble, and the River City 6! There will also be fancy desserts for sale. Admission is $6.
  • Part-Time Employee Job Fair – The Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department along with the Muscatine Community Y is hosting a job fair on Friday, March 24, 2017 from 11:55 am to 12:45 pm outside Student Services at Muscatine High School. The job fair is for all those interested in positions relating to Aquatics, Office work, and Program Instructors and Aids. Employment applications for Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department and Muscatine Community Y will be available to at the job fair. Please plan to complete your application at the job fair. If you have any questions, please call the Muscatine Parks and Recreation Department at 563-263- 0241.
  • JUNIOR & SENIORS – Are you planning on bringing a guest to Prom or CAPE? Guest forms are now available in the AP office (12-001). Guest forms need to be filled out and returned by April 13, 2017. These forms are required for out of town guests or MHS graduates. All guests must be at least a Junior or Senior and be 20 years old or under in order for consideration. (Prom is on April 22nd.)
  • MHS Disc Golf Club Meeting/Practice will be held on Tuesday, March 28th from 4:00 – 5:30 pm at the MHS Campus disc golf course located behind the football field. Meetings/practices will be on Tuesdays from 4:00 -5:30 pm until the end of the school year. If you have any questions, please contact Scott Harmon at scott.harmon@mcsdonline.org

  • Muscatine Cheer Program is holding their 2017 fall tryouts on Sunday, April 2nd for all current 8th – 11th graders. Packets can be picked up at the Attendance Office.
  • CAPE (Carnival After Prom Extravaganza) is in need of VOLUNTEERS to help out on April 23, 2017.  CAPE is a free, safe & fun after prom event for juniors and seniors.
  • ATTENTION JUNIOR & SENIOR GIRLS – Win a PROM MAKEOVER sponsored by FIVE local businesses! All Muscatine High School Junior and Senior Girl students are eligible to enter.   • Free Prom Dresses! Grandma’s Lost Button located at 209 W 2nd St. in Muscatine (ph. 563-263-2629 ) is sponsoring the Free Prom Dress program. Juniors and Seniors looking for a prom dress/shoes are invited to visit Grandma’s Lost Button every Friday from 6-8 pm and Sat. from 10 am- 12 pm until prom.
  • Prom Dress Donations – Have unwanted prom dresses? Grandma’s Lost Button located at 209 W 2nd St. in Muscatine (ph. 563-263-2629) will take in used Prom Dresses for the Free Prom Dress Program. Donations can be dropped during normal store hours
    Tues-Friday 10 am – 5 pm.

  • Prom Dresses and Tuxedo Rental – Linda’s Linens & Bridal Boutique located downtown Muscatine at 129 E 2nd Street (next door to The Flower Gallery) have New Prom dresses at reasonable prices and The Flower Gallery rents out Tuxes. The store also takes in Prom Dresses and other Formal Dresses for consignment if they are clean and in mint condition. Spring Break is just around the corner, so stop in and try on!!   • MHS Soccer Apparel – The Muskie Soccer Boosters has an online store available for you to purchase all of your Muskie Soccer apparel. All items will be delivered to the players at practice unless otherwise noted. Order deadline is April 1st. Remember to place your personalized information on the payment screen.   • Muskie Bands still have Koeze nuts and chocolate items available!  Get yours before the product is all gone!  To purchase please call 563 299 6045 or see any band student.

** Silver Cord Opportunities **

  • Jefferson Carnival – We are looking for volunteers on April 28 from 4:15-7:15 pm. Volunteers will help run games, sell tickets, sell food, hand out prizes, etc. Please contact Sarah Manjoine at sarah.manjoine@mcsdonline.org if interested.
  • McKinley Carnival – We need students to help run the school carnival games at McKinley School on Saturday, April 1st from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm. We would need students to check in at the front office at 10:45 am. Please contact Joelle McConnaha by text at 563-260-7122 OR email at joelle.mcconnaha@mcsdonline.org.
