MHS Drama Department presents 12 Angry Jurors – November 3rd & 4th: 12 strangers must work together to decide his fate. Is he guilty or not? Join us on November 3rd & 4th as the MHS Drama Department presents 12 Angry Jurors. Shows start at 7 pm in the Auditorium at MHS. Tickets are $6 and are available at the door day of show. Box Office will open at 6:15 pm. Activity passes are accepted!

Canball: Come out and support the MHS Food Drive while watching the Canball competition on Nov. 2 beginning at 4 pm in the MHS Gym. Event is open to the public. Player & Spectator entrance fee is $3 or 5 canned goods. All proceeds will be donated to the Muscatine Food Pantry.

  • The Canned Food Drive begins this Friday, November 3rd and ends Thursday, November 16th. Students who bring in 10 canned goods/non-perishable items (this may include cat and dog food for The Humane Society) will be given open campus lunch Friday, November 17th. Students may bring their donations to the Muskie Locker (room 23-005) the second half of lunchDonations will go to MCSA, The Food Pantry, and/or The Humane Society. Please be generous during this year’s Hunger Drive.
  • Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): We will meet over the lunch hour today in the Study Hall Room (22-001).
  • FFA Meeting: There will be an FFA meeting on Thursday during enrichment.
  • Model UN: There will be a meeting on Friday, November 3rd at 12:00 pm in Ms. Hansen’s room for all 10th-12th graders interested in attending the Chicago conference.
  • Girls’ Basketball: Practice begins on Monday, November 6th at 3:45 pm in the main gym.
    Please make sure your physicals and forms are turned in to the Athletic Office.
  • Students of Active Prayer (SOAP) will meet this week at 2702 Surrey Court from 7:30-9:00 pm.  Everyone is welcome.
  • Boys’ Basketball Parent/Player Meeting: There will be a boys’ basketball parent and player meeting at 6 pm in the Cafeteria on Tuesday, November 7th.
  • Boys’ Basketball: Open gym is cancelled for Thursday, November 2nd.  There will be open gyms next Monday, Tuesday and Thursday from 7-8:30 pm.
  • American Sign Language Club will meet on Thurs., Nov. 2 in room 12-018 from 11:58-12:23.

  • Muskie Baseball: There will be a meeting about the Muskie Baseball cookie dough/pie fundraiser on Thursday, November 2 at 6:30 pm in room 22-001 for all playing Muskie Baseball players.

    Accepting applications for studies in:

  • Seniors (18 and older):
    On November 11th is the BERG 2017 Career Information Day. This day is to bring awareness of the career opportunities that are available within the Quad Cities Community. The event will focus on two major paths of careers: professions and skill trades. The intent is to provide an environment such that a high school student or young adult can gain a firm understanding of what is required to successfully enter the workforce. Stop in the Student Services Office and ask Mrs. Hawkins or Ms. Milani for more details.
  • K-POP Club meets from 3:30 to 4:30 pm every Thursday starting November 2nd in Room 11-023. See you there! K-Pop Club Info
  • Boys’ Cross Country Equipment Return: Please come after school on Wed., Nov. 1st to hand in all XC gear. We will be right outside the wrestling room on the girls’ locker room side of the gym. Please contact Mr. Foxen with any questions.
  • Girls’ Cross Country Awards Banquet: The Girl’s Cross Country Awards banquet and potluck will be Thursday, November 2 in the CAFETERIA beginning at 6:07 PM. Freshmen bring a main dish, sophs and juniors sides, and seniors desserts. Water will be provided, bring table service. Turn in all uniforms and equipment if not previously done.

  • Girls’ State Swimming & Diving E-Tickets are On Sale for the 2017 IGHSAU State Swimming & Diving Meet.  GoFan IGHSAU website
  • 2017 Football Banquet: The 2017 Football Banquet will be Sunday, November 5th at 6 pm in the Auditorium. There will be desserts and refreshments in the Cafeteria following the ceremony. All players in grades 9-12 are expected to attend and dress nicely.
  • Boys’ Basketball Sign-up: Any students interested in playing basketball need to stop by room 11-014 (Mr. McDonald’s room) and sign-up. Tryouts will begin on Monday, November 13th.
  • Wrestling Sign-up: Any students interested in Wrestling need to stop by room 12-015 (Coach Kane’s room) and sign up. Go Muskies!
  • The Prudential Spirit of Community Awards will grant two Iowa honorees $1,000, a medallion, and an all-expense-paid trip to Washington, D.C.

  • Interested in helping others? Interested in travel? Not doing anything for Spring Break 2018?  See Ms. Mohapp about an alternate spring break trip to Ecuador! Deadline is March 15, 2018.

** Silver Cord Opportunities **

  • Liberia Rescue Fund International, a non-profit organization in Muscatine, is looking for students to help in the creation of a logo for the organization. We do have some ideas of what we would like involved in the creation of the logo.  If interested, please contact Victoria Zarkpah at zarkpahvictoria@gmail.com or at 563-607-0104.
    (Liberia Rescue Fund International has been able to assist in different ways, but one of their main objectives is to provide school scholarships to give educational opportunities to children in the area of West Point and Monrovia, Africa.)
  • Madison Elementary is looking for 4 students on Monday, December 4th from 6pm-8pm to help backstage during our holiday concert.  Any interested student can email Stephanie Zillig at stephanie.zillig@mcsdonline.org
  • MCSD Food Service is looking for students who would be willing to volunteer at various elementary buildings to get the students through the breakfast line. Times would be 7:40-8:05 daily. Please email Alisha Eggers at alisha.eggers@mcsdonline.org if you are interested in volunteering.
