** Homecoming Information **
- Homecoming Spirit Days are as follows:
- Monday: “Beauty Sleep Day” (PJ Day)
- Tuesday: “Tourist Tuesday”
- Wednesday: “Hollywood Hippie” (Tie-Dye and Flowers)
- Thursday: “Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen Day” (Twin Day)
- Friday: Gold and Muskie Spirit Day
- Powder Puff Game – Junior vs. Senior girls. Seniors win 12-0. Over $1000 in ticket sales will be donated to the Children’s Cancer Connection.
- Homecoming T-Shirts: Student Council ordered 250 shirts (in an array of sizes) to be sold at the high school prior to the Homecoming game. If you have not pre-ordered, you may purchase a shirt for $10.00 during lunch outside of Student Services. Pre-ordered shirts can be picked up in Rm 11-037.
- Homecoming Dance Tickets: Tickets for the Homecoming Dance, Night at the Oscars, are now on sale during lunch outside of Student Services. Tickets are $10.00 per person.
Last day to purchase dance tickets is Friday, Sept. 15.
- Homecoming Dance Guest Forms: Any MHS student wanting to bring a non-MHS student to the Homecoming Dance will need to pick up a Guest Form in the AP office (room 12-001); completed forms must be faxed back to Mrs. Chatfield by September 14th by 4 pm. You will not be allowed to purchase tickets for your out-of-town guest until the guest form has been completed.
- The Homecoming Parade is Thursday, Sept. 14th starting at 6:00 pm from Grant Elementary to MHS. Those participating in the parade need to line up outside of Grant Elementary at 5:30 pm.
- Homecoming Court Coronation is Thursday, Sept. 14th @ 7:00 pm immediately following the Homecoming Parade. Entry is free; Student Council will be accepting donations for the Children’s Cancer Connection.
- Homecoming Court Ballots have been emailed to all the classes. Please check your email for the ballot and vote for your king and queen. Voting will end at 4:00 pm Wednesday, Sept. 13th.
** Daily News & Information **
- Seniors: The deadline to turn in your signed Senior March Form and money has been extended to 3:30 pm, TODAY, Tuesday September 12th. Please email Mrs. Walsh if you have any questions.
- The library is selling autographed books by our visiting author, Trent Reedy. Order forms are available in the library; orders and money are due Friday, September 22.

Zulaikha hopes. She hopes for peace, now that the Taliban have been driven from Afghanistan; a good relationship with her hard stepmother; and one day even to go to school, or to have her cleft palate fixed. - Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA): There will be no FCA this week. We will meet again next Wednesday, September 20th over the lunch hour.
- The Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons Clubs will have a meeting for students interested in participating on Tuesday, Sept. 12th during the end of lunch at 12:40 in Room 13-012A. The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the library starting on Tuesday, Sept 19th. We have some free Magic intro decks while supplies last if you’re interested, but have no cards. See Ben Johns or Shane Palmer if you have any questions.
- Permanent Bus Changes: Starting Monday there are two permanent bus changes. Bus 08-4 will be 17-4 and Bus 13-3 will be 17-5.
- Anime Club will meet every Wednesday starting on Sept. 13 in Mr. Hayes room, 12-028, from 3:45-5 pm. Join to meet new friends and discuss anime subjects.

- Anyone interested in joining the Teen Library Committee: Our first meeting of the year will be Wednesday, September 20th during the second half of lunch in Mrs. Keltner’s office (just off the library). This committee is a great group for anyone who loves to read and wants to help promote the library.
- Muscatine High School Fuel The Future formerly known as SADD (Students Against Destructive Decisions) will meet right after school every Thursday in the new wing upper commons. If you have questions contact Jaimie Cruse at jaimie.cruse@unitypoint.org
- The yearbook staff has several extra yearbooks from the following school years: 2012-2013, 2013-2014, and 2015-2016. If you would like to purchase a copy, we are selling these for $20 (originally $56) What a deal! Please contact Katie Brown at katie.brown@mcsdonline.org if you are interested in buying one.
- Boys’ Tennis Sign Up: Stop in Coach Goedken’s Room 21-030 anytime to sign up. We want to get an idea of who is coming out for tennis and to make sure you have the paperwork turned in. We have Winter tennis lesson information and information about the Spring season.

- Youth Sports Foundation (YSF) is looking for students to work the YSF concessions on Sundays. If interested, please contact Jim Miller at 563-288-2541.
- MCSD Food Service is looking for students who would be willing to volunteer at various elementary buildings to get the students through the breakfast line. Times would be 7:40-8:05 am daily. Please email Alisha Eggers at alisha.eggers@mcsdonline.org if you are interested in volunteering.
