  • Need a dress or outfit for Homecoming?  The Muskie Locker is open 2nd, 3rd, 5th, and  6th hour in Room 12-020.
  • MHS Students: Still in need of a homecoming tux, corsage or boutonniere? The Flower Gallery in Muscatine has you covered. They offer a wide selection of tuxes and can create unique corsages and boutonnieres. Get yours today by contacting them at (563) 262-8264. Make sure to order yours soon since the homecoming dance is happening early this year on September 14th!
  • Muskies Against Violence will be meeting Wednesday, September 11th in the Commons Area during Muskie Time. If you would like to make positive change please come to this meeting and see what it’s all about!”

  • Homecoming Information: See Homecoming Information section below.
  • On Tuesday, September 10, the Iowa Supreme Court will hear oral arguments in Muscatine, Iowa. The proceeding will take place in the Muscatine High School auditorium, 2705 Cedar Street. The oral arguments are open to the public and will begin at 7 p.m.
  • Seniors: Senior March forms are available at the Attendance Center for pick up! The march will take place around 11:30am on Friday, September 13th. Food from Subway is provided. Cost is $5 and permission slips must be turned in by Monday, September 9, 2018 at 3:30pm. If you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Walsh at Hope to see you there!
  • MHS DRAMA will hold a special workshop with MHS graduate Brynn Sweere! Brynn will join us for our first Drama Club meeting of the year, Wednesday, 9/4, from 3:45 – 5:15pm in the Auditorium.  She will be teaching a masterclass on auditioning and preparing to apply for performing arts (theatre, musical theatre, vocal performance, etc.) programs.

  • MHS Picture Day: Sept. 9th starting @ 7am in the MHS Gym.

  • Key Club: The first Key Club meeting of the year will be Thursday, September 5th in Mrs. Rauenbuehler’s room (21-026) during Muskie Time.   • K-POP Club Meeting: The first K-Pop Club meeting will be at 3:40 pm on Thursday, September 5th in Mrs. Hovland’s room (11-023).  K-Pop Club Info
  • Homecoming Dance: Saturday, Sept. 14th, 8-11pm in the MHS Gym.  Tickets are $10 and will be sold the week of homecoming (9th-13th) before and after school in front of Student Services.
  • Junior and Senior Girls – Powder Puff Sign-up Info: If you are interested in participating in the Powder Puff game on September 9th. Please email Meg Manjoine or Mrs. Walsh by next Tuesday, September 3rd. In order to participate, all physical and concussion forms must be up to date. -Go Muskies!
  • STUDENTS: Starting August 29th, the Pool Door entrance (across from the Bonnie St. parking lot) will open at 7:15am, the MAIN and “BIG M” doors (by Cedar St. parking lot) will open at 7:45am.  Door Entry & Entry Times Communication
  • Model UN: For those interested in participating in Model UN or learning more about Model UN, we will have our kickoff meeting on Friday, September 6 during Enrichment in Ms. Hansen’s room (11-024). Bring your computer!
  • As a reminder, there are to be NO cellphones or headphones allowed during class time.
    Please leave your cellphone and headphone in your pocket or bag.
  • Breakfast starts at 7:30am and runs until 8:15am and is available in the Cafeteria or Library Cafeteria.
    Cafeteria – Breakfast Pizza, Breakfast Sandwiches, Muffins, Fruit, etc.
    Library Cafe – Muffins, Cookies, Cheese Sticks, PBJs, Breakfast Bars, Chips, Propel, flavored “slushies”, Water

  • The Magic the Gathering and Dungeons & Dragons Clubs will have meetings for students interested in participating on Wednesday 9/4 at the beginning of both lunch segments in
    Ben Johns’s office (13-012A, the office with the window by the Auditorium). The club will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays after school in the commons starting on Thursday 9/5. We have some free Magic intro decks if you’re interested, but have no cards. See Ben Johns or Tyler Wilson if you have any questions.
  • Wrestling open mat workouts available to all MHS students. Mon-Thurs 4-5pm in the wrestling room.
  • MHS Vehicle Registration/Vehicle Tag:  Vehicle Registration Forms & Vehicle Tags can be picked up from the Student Services office.
  • Student IDs can be picked up in Student Services.
  • Girls’ Basketball: There will be an informational pre-season meeting on Thursday, September 5th during Enrichment in Ms. Hansen’s room (11-024). Open gym starts on Thursday, September 5th and runs from 5:30-7:00pm in the main gym.
  • MHS Picture Day: Sept. 9th starting @ 7am in the MHS Gym.

  • Senior Pictures for the Yearbook: Senior pictures can be uploaded to the Jostens website in November – date to be determined. (Directions will be sent out on the process of uploading pictures at that time.) Please watch announcements for more information!
  • The Muscatine Dance Team are selling Muskie M’s to be painted on driveways!

    • Monday: Monster University Day (Wear your favorite University/College apparel)
      (Remember this is also Picture Day.)

      • Juniors: Blue (Sadness)
      • Sophomore: Anger (Red)

    • Wednesday: Disney Duo Day (Dress as a famous Disney Hero & Sidekick/ Pair of Disney Characters)

  • Homecoming Community Events:
    • Monday, Sept. 9th: Junior Girls vs Senior Girls Powder Puff Game: Sept. 9th, 7PM at the MHS Stadium. Entry fee is $5. Proceeds go to the World Wildlife Fund.
    • Thursday, Sept. 12th: Homecoming Parade @ 6pm – Mulberry Street
    • Thursday, Sept. 12th: Homecoming Coronation @ approx. 7:15pm- MHS Gym
    • Friday, Sept. 13th: Homecoming Football Game @ 6pm
  • Homecoming Dance: Saturday, Sept. 14th, MHS Gym, 8pm-11pm.
  • Homecoming Dance Guest Forms: If you plan to bring a non-MHS guest to the Homecoming Dance on Sept. 14, please stop by the Assistant Principal’s office (Room 12-001) and pick up a permission form.  Homecoming Guest Permission Forms are due on or before Monday, September 9th. Guests must be approved before a ticket can be purchased.
