Today is a BLUE Day!
Upcoming events and dates to remember:
Parent Teacher Conferences (Middle School). These will be walk-in conferences [we will not have appointments]
Oct. 19 – 4:15pm to 7:30pm in the Small gym
Oct. 20 – 4:15pm to 7:30pm in the Small gym
8th grade Volleyball will end practice tonight at 4:15.
The 7th grade girls defeated Clinton last night. A big shout out to the all the girls for working so hard and representing West Middle School in such a positive way.
West Middle School is forming a Student Leadership Group to meet and plan events for all students. Please pick up a form in the Guidance Office and fill out the application and return it to the following teachers: 6th grade – Mrs. Matteson Room 43; 7th grade – Mrs. Horton room 4; 8th grade – Mr. Rivera Room 10 by next Tuesday, September 29th.
Mark your calendar… Saturday, October 3rd for the 2nd Annual Healthy Living Festival where you can learn more about healthy eating, healthy exercise, and other healthy activities that Muscatine has to offer. Muscatine Riverside Park will be the main location for activities, with additional events at the Discover Center and Weed Park. Be sure to check out the website at healthylivingfest.com for times and details.
The Muscatine Community YMCA will be hosting a middle school dance on Sat. Sept. 26th from 7:30-10:30pm. Tickets are on sale now at the Y for just $4.00. If any are left, they will $5.00 at the door. DJ, Dancing, Dodgeball, Open Gym, and other contest throughout the evening. Food will be sold for a nominal fee. Parent Chaperones are always needed. Contact Amy Hessel at the YMCA, 263.9996 for more information or to volunteer.
Musser Library offers ongoing educational Children’s Programming series throughout the schoolyear for all ages, birth through high school. O Baby Lapsit, Preschool Storytime, Youngster Specialty, Mother Daughter Book Club, Sparkplugs Family Literacy, Skeleton Key Adventure Club, and ArtsBuzz are all free of charge and open to the public. We look forward to seeing you at Musser Public Library!
Due to a conflict at our high school field, the 8th grade football game between Muscatine Purple and Bettendorf Gold on Oct. 8th, will now be played at West Middle School at 4:00pm (600 Kindler Ave)
For your convenience all athletic and activity events can now be found on the WMS calendar. This one stop convenient calendar will make it easy for staff, students and parents to access dates and times for all activities. Just click on the “School Calendar” tab at the top right.
The Attendance Office has purple NIKE athletic bags for sale for $30.00. Stop by to take a look.
