Dear 8th Grade Parent/Guardian,
As partners in your child’s education, it is important to ensure that they are prepared for each step along their educational journey. One way to determine student preparedness is through assessment. The 8th grade PreAct assessment will give us important information that will allow us to determine not only how your child is progressing at his/her current grade level, but also how he/she is progressing toward future college and career readiness. Below is detailed information for 8th grade students:
- Most 8th grade students will test Thursday, November 10th (8:30-11:00am) at SCJH large gym.
- Some identified students will test in smaller environments in classrooms at SCJH. These students will be notified beforehand where to report.
Please help us make your child feel confident and comfortable as he/she takes these required tests. Be sure your child goes to bed early, gets a good night’s sleep, eats a good breakfast, and arrives at school on time. Students will only need to bring a pencil, calculator, and water bottle to the testing site.
We’re confident your child will do their best. This is an opportunity to see your student’s potential performance on the ACT® test. To learn more about the test, visit act.org/preact or call our office at 563-263-0411
Sincerely,
SCJH Administration
