Virtual Backpack Guidelines

Muscatine Schools Virtual Backpack is the district’s “green” approach to distributing information from school-sponsored activities and non-profit organizations during the school year.

Why Go Green?

• Parents will now be able to find information in one easy online location.
• Saves our district and community non-profits money on printing.
• Be more responsible for caring for the environment.

For Organizations

Non-school-sponsored information will only be distributed from non-profit organizations via the Virtual Backpack. All flyer distribution requests should be submitted at least 10 days prior to the desired distribution date. Please EMAIL your information to; Tony.Loconsole@mcsdonline.org. Be sure to include a .png or .jpg version of your flyer/materials.

Non-school sponsored materials must include the following statement located in a conspicuous location:

This is not a Muscatine Community School District publication. It is being distributed through the school district as a community service of the district to inform you of other community activities or services available.

Limited Print Materials

Upon approval, a limited number of materials (50 per building) may be distributed to students who do not have a computer and/or internet access via each school’s secretary or the administration office. All flyers must be approved and dropped off at the district office for distribution. NO flyers should be dropped off at the school buildings. Flyers should be separated into bundles and labeled with the name of the school you would like your flyer to be distributed.
