Tell us about the Muscatine Preschool (Early Childhood) Program
Muscatine School District partners with private preschools to provide high quality preschool for all four-year-olds. All preschools meet the state Quality Preschool Program Standards (QPPS) for quality and have a licensed early childhood teacher. They use a research-based curriculum and receive professional development focused on continual improvement.
Muscatine School District employs eight teachers licensed to teach three to five year-old students with special needs. The majority of these programs use the integrated model, meaning students with and without disabilities are in the same classroom and follow the same curriculum. This model has been proven to benefit all students in numerous ways.
