Enrollment/Registration Information

Welcome to Muscatine Schools! Your child is entering a school district that prides itself on its mission “Every Student is a Success Story.” We thank you for your interest in our district and look forward to working with your student and your family. Please take a moment to familiarize yourself with the new student enrollment process below.

New Students K-12 (Current 2018-19 School Year)

Families of new students starting in the Muscatine Community School District during the current year may register online using the following link:

Preschool Registration

Muscatine School District Preschool Registration for the Muskie Early Learning Center 2019-2020 school year.

Register online or at any one of these locations:

4 yr old Preschool was January 15th 10:00 am – 6:00 pm @ Muscatine Community School District Admin Center, 2900 Mulberry Avenue and January 16th 8:00 am – 6:00 pm @ Muscatine Community School District, Admin Center, 2900 Mulberry Avenue AND YMCA, 1823 Logan Street.

3 yr old Preschool registration is open Monday, February 4th, 2019 through Friday, February 8th, 2019 (6 pm). All students who are registered will be assigned a number (internally). Numbers will be randomly selected through a lottery process for the 30 available general education spots. Parents will be notified of the results by Friday, February 15th. This process will ensure equity for all families interested in the 3-year-old program as spots are very limited. Registering from home? NEW and EXISTING families of preschool students will use the New Student form in PowerSchool Registration.

Next Steps

Parents/guardians who submit a preschool registration will be notified by the end of January 2019 regarding the status of their submission.

New Families to the District: What you will need to Register Your Child

  1. Name of previous school, city, and state (the secretary will fax a request for student records to your child’s previous school).
  2. Birth Certificate (for kindergarten only).
  3. Immunization Record.
  4. Parent(s)/Guardian(s) Information:
    1. Name
    2. Preferred Phone Number
    3. Email Address
    4. Place of Employment
    5. Employer’s Phone Number
  5. Emergency Contact(s) Information:
    1. Name
    2. Phone Number
    3. Relationship to student
  6. Medical considerations and Medicines that need to be noted.
    1. Please visit our district Health Services page for additional information on screenings and immunizations required by the State of Iowa
    2. If your student has a chronic health condition (i.e. seizures, allergies, asthma, etc.) there are additional forms available on our Health Services page.
  7. Doctor and Dentist Name/Phone Number (if known).
  8. Court documents with information regarding the custody of the student or if the student is mentioned in a protection order (if necessary).

Stay Informed – this is a great way to “stay informed” about school events through email notification. You can subscribe to one or more schools or district-wide to receive all school notifications.
